Meet Noel
I am a lifelong resident of Natomas, a first-generation college graduate, a community leader, and a proud alumnus of Natomas USD schools. Natomas Unified School District has played a huge role in my family’s education since we moved to South Natomas over 20 years ago, and I am thrilled to be running for School Board Area 1 to help support positive outcomes for students just like me.

I currently work at Sacramento State University, supporting college students from underrepresented backgrounds and connecting them to leadership and civic engagement opportunities. While working through college, I was also a banquet server, which is the work my parents have done for most of their lives. My education is something I value greatly, and I have a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Sacramento State, where I am also the President of the Latinx Alumni Chapter (Stingers Up!).
I am an advocate for dedicated funding and resources for youth development and I serve on the City of Sacramento Measure U Community Advisory Committee, the Stonewall Foundation of Greater Sacramento Board, and the YMCA of Superior California Board. I am also Vice President of the Natomas Community Association, and Co-Chair of the District 3 Community Coalition, where I intend to bring more young people into neighborhood leadership and involvement. I am also part of the Natomas Community Planning Commission with Sacramento County, where I review development proposals for projects in our area.
In my run for school board, I am focused on improving the life outcomes of Natomas students, through access to higher education and trade schools, meeting students’ basic needs, and ensuring a culture of equity in our schools. I am steadfast about supporting all students and families across race, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status, since our Natomas community’s strength is our diversity.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching history and science fiction shows, deep cleaning my home, and playing tennis casually (I don’t mean to brag, but I was a bronze medal champ in an elementary school doubles tournament).
I hope you will want to learn more about my campaign and how to get involved.
